For every subcontractor

Don't see your trade listed?
If you sub work, STUDD fits.

STUDD isn't built around what you install, pour, hang, or wire. It's built around the three things every subcontractor deals with: getting paid, making money, and covering your ass. If you do work for a GC and send invoices, STUDD works for your shop.

The universal sub problem

Every trade has the same back-office gap.

It doesn't matter if you're framing, welding, insulating, excavating, doing fire protection, tile, flooring, glass, structural steel, or demolition. If you're a subcontractor, you share the same three problems with every other sub on every jobsite in the country:

1. You do extra work that never gets invoiced.

Change orders happen in every trade. The scope shifts, the GC adds something, another trade damages your work and you fix it. The extra work gets done because you're a professional and you're on site. But the paperwork to bill for it? That waits until you get back to the office. Sometimes it waits forever.

STUDD makes sure every job gets billed. Templates per GC, per job type. Change orders captured the same day, not the same month.

2. GCs pay you when they feel like it.

Net-30 becomes net-60 becomes net-90. The GC's PM doesn't return your calls. You're financing their project with your cash flow and you don't even realize how much it's costing you until you run the numbers.

This is not a plumbing problem or an electrical problem. This is a subcontractor problem. Every trade gets slow-paid. STUDD tracks every invoice by GC, fires automated follow-ups on a cadence, and keeps lien-rights timers running so you never lose leverage.

3. One lapsed document and you're off the job.

Every sub carries compliance paperwork. COIs, W-9s, workers' comp certificates, contractor licenses, bonding, trade-specific certifications. The specifics vary by trade, but the problem is identical: each document has its own renewal date, its own issuing authority, and its own consequence for lapsing. Miss one and the GC pulls you off site.

STUDD tracks every document in one place. Renewal alerts hit your phone before anything lapses. Not a filing cabinet. Not a spreadsheet. A system that watches the dates so you don't have to.

Not limited to eight trades

STUDD works for any sub who sends invoices and chases payment.

Framing

You frame the building before anyone else touches it. You should get paid before anyone else forgets about it.

Flooring

Tile, hardwood, LVP, carpet. Different materials, same invoice gap when the scope changes mid-install.

Insulation

You're in and out fast, but the invoice shouldn't disappear just as quickly.

Fire protection

Sprinkler systems, fire stopping, alarm installs. Heavy compliance requirements and GCs who take their time paying.

Excavation

You move dirt, grade sites, dig utilities. The equipment costs are upfront. The GC's payment is not.

Steel / welding

Structural steel, ornamental iron, welding. High material costs, specialized certs, and GCs who stretch net-30 to net-forever.

This list could go on. Glazing, demolition, masonry, siding, gutters, fencing, elevator install, solar, low-voltage, waterproofing. The trade changes. The back-office pain doesn't.

Common questions

Things subs from every trade ask us.

If STUDD isn't trade-specific, how does it know my business?
STUDD isn't generic. It's built around the sub's workflow: invoice, follow up, track compliance, understand profitability. The templates, terms, and checklists are configured for YOUR shop during onboarding. Your trade's specifics live in your setup, not in our code.
Can my guys in the field use it?
Yes. STUDD is built for phones, not desktops. Your crew can log tickets, attach photos, and update job status from wherever the work is. You don't need everyone at a computer.
I have trade-specific compliance docs. Can STUDD track those?
Yes. COIs, licenses, certifications, bonds, permits - whatever your trade and your GCs require. Each document gets tracked with its own renewal date and alert timeline. If it expires, you'll know before it does.
Do I need to import everything from QuickBooks first?
No. You can run STUDD alongside whatever you're using now. Most shops start by sending new invoices through STUDD and migrate history over time. No big-bang switchover required.
No demo gauntlet. No sales person.
